(1) Daniel ist mir ein Vorbild in der Fürbitte: Stelle ich mich mit den Menschen auf eine Stufe, für die ich bete, oder fühle mich ihnen überlegen? Wie wichtig ist mir beim Beten die Ehre Gottes – d.h. dass ER groß rauskommt, nicht ich?
(2) Mit Isaak Newton und über 100 weiteren Auslegern (Christen und Juden) glaube ich, dass die 70 Jahrwochen-Prophezeiung sich in Jesus Christus (seinem Auftreten, seinem Wirken, seinem Tod) haargenau erfüllt hat. Ob deswegen den Juden das Studium „der Zeiten des Messias“ im Talmud kategorisch untersagt wird?
(3) Gott erhört Gebete, wenn auch nicht immer so schnell wie hier bei Daniel. Oder nicht so, wie wir es uns vorgestellt haben. Wohl dem, der bereit ist, zu warten und der Weisheit und Liebe Gottes zu vertrauen!
Who are you praying for? (Daniel 9)
Three thoughts on Daniel chapter 9:
(1) Daniel is a model of intercession for me: Do I place myself on the same level with the people I pray for, or do I feel superior to them? How important is the glory of God to me when I pray – i.e. that HE will be great, not I?
(2) With Isaac Newton and over 100 other exegetes (Christians and Jews), I believe that the 70 week prophecy has been fulfilled exactly in Jesus Christ (his appointment, his work, his death). Is that why the Jews are categorically forbidden in the Talmud to study “the times of the Messiah”?
(3) God answers prayers, though not always as quickly as here with Daniel. Or not as we have imagined. Blessed is he who is willing to wait and trust in the wisdom and love of God! (Foto)
¿Por quién oras? (Daniel 9)
Tres reflexiones sobre el capítulo 9 de Daniel:
(1) Daniel es un ejemplo de intercesión para mí: ¿Me pongo al mismo nivel que las personas por las que oro, o me siento superior a ellas? ¿Qué importancia tiene la gloria de Dios para mí cuando oro, es decir, que ÉL sea grande, no yo?
(2) Con Isaac Newton y más de 100 exegetas (cristianos y judíos), creo que la profecía de las 70 semanas se ha cumplido al pie de la letra en Jesucristo (su llegada, su actuación, su muerte). ¿Es por eso que a los judíos se les prohíbe categóricamente en el Talmud estudiar “los tiempos del Mesías”?
(3) Dios responde a las oraciones, aunque no siempre tan rápido como en el caso de Daniel. O no como nos imaginábamos. ¡Feliz el que está dispuesto a esperar y confiar en la sabiduría y el amor de Dios! (Foto)
