[nx_spacer size=”5″]Die Geschichte von Daniel in der Löwengrube (im Kapitel 6 seines Buches) kennen viele aus der Zeit im Kindergottesdienst. Beim Nachdenken darüber habe ich drei Punkte festgehalten:
(1) Daniel war alt geworden (über 80!), aber immer noch vertrauenswürdig, weise und unbestechlich. Er war sich selbst treu geblieben. Seine Integrität bewirkte Neid und Intrigen. Der einzige Fehler, den seine Rivalen bei ihm fanden, war seine Treue zu Gott. Solch einen “Fehler” wünschte ich auch mir!
(2) Daniel führte ein diszipliniertes Gebetsleben und dachte nicht daran, seine Gebetspraxis aus Angst vor den Intriganten zu ändern. Ich will meinen Glauben nicht demonstrativ zur Schau stellen, aber ihn auch nicht verstecken oder mich wie ein Chamäleon je nach Umgebung anpassen und verbiegen.
(3) Wie bei der Bewahrung der Freunde Daniels im Feuerofen (Kapitel 3) gilt auch hier: Gott kann den, der ihm vertraut, vor den Löwen bewahren, muss aber nicht (wie bei den Christen, die im Kolosseum den Löwen zum Fraß geworfen wurden). Wohl dem, der Gott auch dann vertraut, wenn er sein Handeln nicht erklären kann.
Intrigued, then rehabilitated (Daniel 6)
The story of Daniel in the lion’s den (in chapter 6 of his book) is known to many since the children’s church services. While thinking about it I have noted three points:
(1) Daniel was old (over 80!), but still trustworthy, wise and incorruptible. He had remained true to himself. His integrity caused envy and intrigue. The only fault his rivals found with him was his loyalty to God. I wish I had such a “fault” too!
(2) Daniel led a disciplined prayer life and had no intention of changing his prayer practice for fear of the schemers. I don’t want to show my faith demonstratively, but neither do I want to hide it or adapt it like a chameleon according to my surroundings.
(3) As with the keeping of the friends of Daniel in the furnace of fire (chapter 3) God can save the one who trusts in him from the lions, but does not have to (as with the Christians who were thrown to the lions in the Colosseum). Blessed is the one who trusts God even when he cannot understand or explain his actions. (Foto)
Intrigado y luego rehabilitado (Daniel 6)
La historia de Daniel en la fosa de los leones es conocida por muchos desde la niñez. Al estudiar ese capítulo 6 de Daniel, he notado tres puntos:
(1) Daniel había envejecido (¡más de 80!), pero aún era digno de confianza, sabio e incorruptible. Se había mantenido fiel a sí mismo. Su integridad causó envidia e intrigas. La única falta que sus rivales encontraron en él fue su lealtad a Dios. ¡Ojalá a mí sólo se encontrara esa “falta”!
(2) Daniel llevó una vida de oración disciplinada y no pensó en cambiar su práctica de oración por miedo a los intrigantes. Personalmente, no quiero mostrar mi fe publicamente de forma ostensible, pero tampoco quiero esconderla o adaptarme y encorvarme como un camaleón a mi entorno.
(3) Como la protección de los amigos de Daniel en el horno de fuego (capítulo 3) Dios puede salvar de los leones a quien confía en él, pero no está obligado a hacerlo (como en el caso de los cristianos que fueron arrojados a los leones en el Coliseo).
