Wer hat das letzte Wort? (Daniel 2)

[nx_spacer size=”5″] Drei Dinge, die ich beim Lesen in der Bibel (Daniel Kapitel 2) entdeckt habe:

(1) Wer dem Gott des Himmels vertraut, braucht sich vor Königen und Fürsten nicht zu fürchten.

(2) Ist ein gläubiger Mensch nicht nur weise, sondern auch bescheiden, so potenziert dies seine Eignung für Führungsaufgaben.

(3) Mögen ein Trump oder ein Putin großspurig reden, das letzte und alles entscheidende Wort hat Gott. Er beendet – und vollendet! – die Weltgeschichte.

Who has the final say? (Daniel 2)

Three things I discovered while reading the Bible (Daniel chapter 2):

1) If you trust the God of heaven, you need not fear kings and princes.

2) If a believer is not only wise but also humble, this potentiates his suitability for leadership.

3) May a Trump or a Putin speak boastfully, God has the last and decisive word. He ends – and fulfills! – world history.

¿Quién tiene la palabra final? (Daniel 2)

Tres cosas que descubrí mientras leía la Biblia (Daniel capítulo 2):

(1) El que confía en el Dios del cielo no tiene por qué temer a reyes y autoridades.

(2) Si un creyente no sólo es sabio sino también humilde, esto incrementa su idoneidad para el liderazgo.

(3) Que un Trump o un Putin hablen con la arrogancia que quieran: Es Dios el que tiene la última y decisiva palabra. Él pone fin y culminación a la historia de este mundo.

Vier Veganer gegen den Rest der Uni (Daniel 1)

[nx_spacer size=”5″]Beim Lesen des 1. Kapitels im Buch Daniel habe ich mir drei Dinge gemerkt:

(1) Manchmal sieht es in der Geschichte so aus, als würde Jahwe, der Gott der Bibel, eine Niederlage erleben. Früher  oder später stellt sich allerdings heraus: Gott bleibt der Erhabene, der Allmächtige, der Allwissende – und belegt das durchs Leben derjenigen, die ihm voll und ganz vertrauen und sich offen zu ihm bekennen.

(2) Eine vegane Ernährung war nicht nur am Anfang der Welt, vor dem Sündenfall, gesund und völlig ausreichend: Auch in der Uni Babylons bewies sie ihre enormen Vorteile.

(3) Wissen kann man durch Bücher und in Universitäten erwerben, Weisheit allerdings kommt von Gott. Und sie ist nicht ausschließlich eine Frage des Alters!

Four vegans against the rest of the university (Daniel 1)

While reading the first chapter of the book of Daniel I noticed three things:

(1) Sometimes in history, it looks like Yahweh, the God of the Bible, is about to experience a defeat. Sooner or later, however, it turns out that God remains the Exalted One, the Almighty, the Omniscient – and proves this through the lives of those who fully trust Him and openly confess Him.

(2) A vegan diet was not only at the beginning of the world, before the Fall, healthy and completely sufficient: It also proved its enormous advantages in the university of Babylon.

(3) Knowledge can be acquired through books and in universities, but wisdom comes from God. And it is not exclusively a matter of age!

Cuatro veganos contra el resto de la universidad (Daniel 1)

Mientras leía el primer capítulo del libro de Daniel, me llamaron tres cosas la atención:

(1) A veces en la historia, parece que Yahvé, el Dios de la Biblia, está a punto de experimentar una derrota. Tarde o temprano, sin embargo, resulta que Dios sigue siendo el Exaltado, el Todopoderoso, el Omnisciente – y lo demuestra a través de las vidas de aquellos que confían plenamente en Él y lo confiesan abiertamente.

(2) Una dieta vegana no sólo era al principio del mundo, antes de la Caída, saludable y completamente suficiente: También demostró sus enormes ventajas en la universidad de Babilonia.

(3) El saber se puede adquirir a través de libros y en las universidades, pero la sabiduría procede de Dios. ¡Y no es exclusivamente una simple cuestión de edad!
